MOBIKO app installation – How do I install the app on my smartphone or laptop?

MOBIKO does not use a traditional app from the App Store. Instead, we offer a Progressive Web App (PWA).
This app can be installed directly from your browser onto your home screen and works just like a regular app – with the added benefit of faster updates.


1. Installing the App on Your Smartphone (PWA)

1.1 For iPhones (iOS):

  1. Open Safari on your iPhone.

  2. Go to 👉 https://mobile.mobiko.net

  3. Tap the share icon (a square with an arrow pointing up).

  4. Select “Add to Home Screen.”

  5. Tap “Add” – and you’re done!

1.2 For Android devices:

  1. Open Google Chrome.

  2. Go to 👉 https://mobile.mobiko.net

  3. Tap the three-dot menu (top right corner).

  4. Select “Add to Home screen.”

  5. Tap “Install” – and you’re done!

Once installed, you’ll find the MOBIKO app directly on your home screen – just like any other app.


2. Installing the App on Your Laptop or Desktop (PWA)

Want to use MOBIKO on your computer as well? You can install it as a Progressive Web App (PWA) on your desktop for quick access to all available modules.

Here’s how:

  1. Open the site:
    On your laptop/PC browser, go to 👉 https://mobile.mobiko.net

  2. Click the install icon:
    When the page loads, a small computer or “+” icon will appear in the browser’s address bar (usually top right).
    Click on it. (This icon may be highlighted in green in the image.)

  3. Confirm installation:
    A pop-up will appear with an “Install” button → Click Install.

  4. App appears on desktop:
    MOBIKO will now be installed like a regular program, with its own desktop icon.

  5. Start the app:
    Click the icon to launch the app – just like you would with any other application on your computer.


System Requirements:

To install the PWA, please use one of the following browsers:

    • ✅ Google Chrome
    • ✅ Microsoft Edge
    • ✅ Safari (on macOS)

Are there any known limitations with certain cell phone models or operating system versions in connection with the MOBIKO app?

Answer:
Yes, there are some known limitations that may affect the use of the MOBIKO app:

  1. Outdated smartphone models or operating systems:
    The app may not function properly on very old devices whose operating systems can no longer be updated.
    Solution: In such cases, the PWA (Progressive Web App) can be used as an alternative via a computer or laptop.
  2. Problems with the Safari browser:
    In isolated cases, difficulties have been reported when using Safari.
    Solution: Here, too, the PWA on a computer/laptop can be a viable alternative – or another browser (e.g., Chrome or Firefox) can be used.
  3. Restricted company network:
    If users are logged into the company network, the MOBIKO app may be blocked.
    Solution: Please try logging in via a different network or directly via your smartphone's mobile network.
